The AVP leads a team responsible for growing MSC Cruises USA national accounts, strategic accounts, MICE & Charter and Casino business. Creating strategies to deliver on the market’s goals and formulating plans to grow the business by creating win-win solutions for the US market and the account partners are paramount, as well as developing the skills and capabilities of the team.
•Develops strategies ensuring each department and individual achieves annual objectives as well as personnel goals. This includes establishing departmental and individual team goals at quarterly and annual levels;
•Develops and manages to the annual budgets assigned;
•Establishes and communicates business impact both externally and internally via reporting, data analytics, competitive analysis, peer to peer reporting in effort to refine business approach, spending, and results. This is inclusive of managing co-op investments, event sponsorships, override incentive and other various incentive programs;
•Develops best in class relationships ensuring the business delivers objectives and results in full alignment with MSC Cruises objective;
•Creates a culture of success, collaboration and ongoing business goal achievement within the team, greater organization and with accounts;
•Defines, leads and manages to realize an optimal sales force structure for each business segment and team;
•Recruits, manages and coaches sales professionals to their highest potential;
•Ensures client engagement strategies are aligned with the mission, values, and culture of MSC Cruises and that they result in revenue growth as well as in employee development;
•Collaboratives with other departments (Revenue Management, Marketing, Operations, Contact Center, etc.) to optimize revenue growth and client satisfaction;
•Represents MSC Cruises outside the organization (shows, conferences, etc.) to build MSC brand awareness.
The AVP must possess excellent interpersonal skills to develop the highest performing relationships internally and externally. Must be a leader and professional who will represent MSC Cruises USA increasing the brand awareness within accounts and the managed market segments.
•BA in Marketing, Business, or related field, MBA preferred but not required;
•10+ years’ proven track record of successfully leading a Field and Headquarter based sales team with minimum team of 20 members in the Travel Industry;
•10+ years’ proven track record of successfully developing business with key accounts, MICE & Charter and Casino market segments in excess of $200M in revenue;
•Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Salesforce;
•Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level;
•Analytical thinker and proven ability to formulate business plans focused on sales growth;
•Strong negotiation skills;
•Proven ability to increase brand awareness across all accounts and market segments;
•Proven ability to manage multiple accounts at a time while paying strict attention to detail;
•Excellent communication skills to develop the highest performing relationships internally and externally.
•Must be available to travel 30-50% of the time
