An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Wellness and Spa Manager to drive the pre-opening strategic and operational planning for this unique project, as well as lead the onboard operations once in service. The Wellness and Spa Manager will ensure the training of the team to exceed standards, and who has the ability to maintain operating criteria of Spa, Health Club and Wellness concepts.
• Assist to recruit and develop specialist Wellness and Spa staff;
• Lead the setup of new services and infrastructure onboard Explora Journeys;
• Coaches, develops and trains the onboard Wellness and Spa Team;
• Ensures professional, exceptional and guest-oriented services are consistently delivered by the On-board Wellness and Spa Team;
• Identifies revenue opportunities and develops revenue driving strategies, whilst constantly evaluating the operations for an on-going, continued improvement and growth;
• Develop and maximize the schedule;
• Continual development of the menu to ensure the guest experience remains relevant and fresh;
• Create a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction;
• Collaborates with onboard departments to develop and implement activities that collaborate with the Wellness & Spa as well as to contribute to the revenue;
• Maintains standards and procedures for all aspects of the Wellness and Spa operation;
• Completes all administrative duties in a timely manner: required reporting, inventory control, financial accounting.
• Proficient speaking, reading, and writing skills in English, a fluent level in 1 or more of the following languages: German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese. Any other language is considered a plus;
• High School Graduate or equivalent;
• Qualifications within the Wellness and Spa industry;
• Minimum 5 years management experience in a luxury Wellness and Spa environment, of which some time would be desired to have been onboard cruise ships;
• Keen business acumen
• Committed to continually exceeding guest expectations;
• Strong strategic planning, project management skill and superior decision making;
• Previous experience preferred as a hands-on therapist such as massage therapist, esthetician, acupuncturist, wellness etc.;
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills;
• Strong PC Skills using Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel;
• The ability to maintain operating criteria/spa concepts and be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all Spa related services in relation to assistance with policies, philosophy, and objectives for the Wellness and Spa;
• The ability to effectively integrate the Wellness and Spa with the Ship operations wherever possible;
• The ability to anticipate, in advance, all materials and supplies and assure their availability;
• As a Department Leader you will motivate and develop a team, leading by example at all times, and instill a culture of continuous learning and improvement among your staff;
• Actively involved in identifying and assessing the needs of your team and investing in their career development through effective coaching, training, and by instilling company core values;

• Excellent human relations skills and sense of observation and listening with a talent for motivating employees to excel and to be perceptive to the individual wants and needs of our guests residents and peers;
• Ability to function under a fast paced environment, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions;
• High work ethic, with sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team;

• Have excellent interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele.
