LINE MANAGER: Assistant Beverage Manager
An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Senior Bartender/ Mixologist to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The primary responsibility of the Senior Bartender is to provide an excellent guest drinking experience and ensure the smooth operations of the assigned venues in line with Explora Journeys policies/procedures, as well as working closely with the Assistant Beverage Manager on overseeing the operations for all bars/lounges and crew bar areas in order to achieve the best level of guest satisfaction, revenue and cost control.
• Attends Guests needs by providing a courteous, friendly, quick, and professional service at all times.
• Ensures Guests are not kept waiting for service in the assigned venues.
• Generates maximum sales and profits.
• Trains team members and supervises the working operations in the assigned bar area.
• Possesses full knowledge of Bar menus, garnishes, and presentations.
• Prepares beverages according to guest preferences and in line with company policy and procedures.
• Possesses job and product knowledge, including knowledge of cocktail recipes, wine lists and bar set-ups.
• Ensures that the crew assigned in the coffee lounge are well trained to ensure good stock control.
• Possesses full knowledge of current Public Health rules and regulations and always maintains high standards.
• Is aware of all events and activities on the ship and able to communicate to the guests.
• Ensures compliance with the company alcohol policy.
• Communicates effectively with the senior management.
• Fluent in English, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French).
• Previous experience in a similar position in an International Cruise Company, or in a busy 5-star hotel/resort with an international bar list.
• Communicates effectively with the senior management.
• Possesses ability to lead and make decisions.
• Experienced in coaching subordinates.
• Must be cost and quality conscious.
• Sticks to specific scheduled working hours yet is flexible if circumstances require it.
Possess a valid passport and seaman book if available.
