The Guarantee Engineer is responsible for the assessment, coordination and implementation of all the Technical Guarantee Claims raised by the ship's officers throughout the entire guarantee period. Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders involved in the process and the prompt resolution of priority claims.
Responsible person and primary contact between the ships, all the Technical superintendents and the shipyards.
•Maintains and updates the guarantee claims database as well as coordinates onboard service interventions with the shipyard.
•Prioritize/address TOP_MSC guarantee claims that require immediate attention/action and coordinate with all parties involved accordingly.
•Arrange and lead weekly conference calls with shipyard to further discuss/address/coordinate Top_MSC guarantee claims.
•Plan, coordinate and lead quarterly onboard guarantee meetings between MSC and the shipyard throughout the Guarantee period.
•Provide leadership and effective guidance for the timely resolution of pending and open claims.
•Ensure service intervention details and action plans are captured, communicated to the vessel in a timely manner and executed as planned.
•Maintain good working relations at all times with the NB team, the shipyard as well as with all stakeholders, MSC officers and superintendents
•Ensure lessons learned are captured and communicated to project management teams as needed.
•Issue regular updates, reports that will provide clear visibility into progress, challenges, costs and upcoming service intervention forecasts for the upcoming month.
•Fluent in English (spoken & written); knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.
•Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
•Minimum 5 years of professional experience in similar technical field.
•Ability to read and comment technical drawings.
•Good IT skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, Power Point
•Strong interpersonal skills and strong ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management and across multiple cultures
•Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, as well as the ability to work to tight schedules and endure challenging situations.
•Autonomous and highly motivated candidate, capable of mobilizing people/resources and actions effectively.
•Good negotiation skills
•Proactive and strong problem solving skills
•Ability to easily travel to EU Shipyards and to the vessels (worldwide) regularly.
