MSC Cruises, the world's third largest and fastest growing cruise brand is seeking a CPA qualified accounting professional to lead accounting and financial operations for our brand new cruise terminal in Miami. The role oversees the general accounting, controlling, and financial reporting functions of the Miami Cruise Terminal including accounts payable, treasury, revenue accounting, General Ledger control, month-end reporting, and project financing.

Directs all accounting and related financial operations and reporting across revenue accounting, accounts payable, intercompany transactions and re-billings, etc. – with scope covering all departments in the Miami Cruise Terminal, including operating expenses.
Ensures proper timing and application of revenue recognition and accruals occurs while ensuring a real-time review of all applicable reports and controls.
Oversees quarterly and month-end close process by ensuring company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, IFRS, and other reporting requirements.
Oversees all accounting related to revenue, including collections/receivables.
Oversees tax and legal compliance and coordinates annual audits.
Oversees local treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting and funding/remittances.
Oversees and approves administrative activities such as system access, bank account access, company system access.
Coordinates work related to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company’s financial reports.
Ensures the accounting department is staffed and well managed, with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities as well as the continued development of staff members.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance, preferably from a highly-regarded institution
Strong accounting and problem-solving skills
5+ years in a Big 4 accounting firm with strong record of talent development
5+ years of clear progression in Accounting and Financial Operations roles in at least one highly regarded, multi-national, complex firm.
CPA required.
US GAAP, IFRS skills, cash/treasury, cost controlling
Experience with project financing is a strong advantage.
Travel/Leisure experience a plus
Advanced Excel skills (capacity to model financial sensitivities and scenarios)
Strong communicator in multi-cultural organization
Fluent in English
US passport or green card
