MSC Cruises, the world’s third largest and most rapidly growing cruise line is expanding its Commercial team in the USA. Reporting to the SVP & Commercial Sales Officer, the Director of Trade Engagement & Sales Projects will serve both as the lead for all of MSC Cruises’ trade related activities both internally and externally and as a Project Manager and right-hand person for all of sales related projects, tasks and operational items needed to keep the team running.

Developing a 3/5 years strategic plan to build the best in class trade engagement programs in the industry.
Lead and execute the strategy and related trade communications activities optimizing timing and audience
Implement relevant trade training, both experiential and digital to travel partners
Taking a lead role in managing events calendar and budget, communicating both internally and externally and leading strategy surrounding MSCs presence at trade shows and other large events including ship inaugurals and advisory board meetings
Partnering with marketing on meaningful trade brand messaging strategy and event materials, tracking effectiveness of campaigns and leveraging promotional and product content
Oversight of trade sales’ social media pages including strategy and posting of content
Developing an asset library of impactful sales presentations (PowerPoint) for use by field / trade sales team at seminars etc.
Developing dashboards and tracking trade-related KPIs to include impressions, touchpoints, sentiment, productivity etc.
Optimizing the trade database and partnering with Sales Support team to ensure pertinent trade data is captured and capabilities of Salesforce are maximized
Operating as internal communications lead for all items related to MSC’s trade engagement in the USA and ensuring all teams are aligned with the company’s trade strategy.
Collect initial and ongoing competitive intel to level set MSC engagement in the industry and ensure initiatives and actions going forward are competitive.
Sales Projects Management
Supporting and partnering with the SVP Sales Commercial Officer on the design, deployment and tracking of all projects, tasks and activities needed to achieve the annual goals and objectives of MSC’s trade sales teams.
Manage multiple projects at the same time both from a high level definition of the scope of each project and to the tactical dimensions of owning the PowerPoint creation, setting the meetings, keeping internal and external communications relevant to all the stakeholders of each project, tracking and measuring the advancement of the projects etc.
Acting as the “right arm” of the SVP – Sales Commercial Officer” with specific focus on the effectiveness of the initiatives and the management of the annual budget.
Becoming the “go to person for all things trade sales at MSC”.
Support all actions and initiatives with data analytics and critical thinking
7+ years experience in travel / hospitality industry, cruise preferred, specifically engaging with the trade
Bachelors degree in Business, Economics or other relevant subject
Advanced project management skills and ability to manage complex calendars of projects, trade events and related budget
Data-centric approach to trade engagement, proven background in tracking KPIs and adjusting strategy based on insight from regular reporting
Demonstrable experience of driving trade communications strategy, both internal and external
Well versed in Salesforce (or similar) and background in maximizing its use to increase impactful outreach to trade
Accustomed to working closely with internal business partners in Marketing, PR, Revenue Management and Contact Center to maximize effectiveness of trade engagement
Exceptional communication skills and confident liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
Adaptable, flexible and ready to re-arrange the schedule depending on everchanging priorities.
