The Commercial Analyst will drive analysis, insights and reporting on sales and marketing effectiveness across direct and trade channels, promotions and activities. This newly created role will track KPIs and deliver reporting on marketing ROI and channel effectiveness
Commercial Analyst will report to the VP, Channel Strategy &Management (new position we are recruiting for). If the Commercial Analyst role is filled before the new VP role is filled, the Commercial Analyst will initially report solid line to the Senior Lead, Pricing, Revenue Management & Business Analytics (HQ-based) and dotted line to the President, Explora Journeys North America (Miami-based).
Conduct in-depth sales and marketing analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Benchmark competitors’ activities and pricing.
Leverage analyses and reports to provide actionable insights for strategies, decision-making, and performance management of commercial efforts across sales and marketing.
Provide analyses on actions’ ROI (Return On Investment), COOP, Bonus Commission, Partners’ Offers, at Market level or Partner level.
In collaboration with Business Intelligence Team, develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales and marketing efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing and revenue management, to ensure alignment on business goals and strategies. Work with channel leaders to identify trends and recommend actions to improve sales volume and efficiency.
Spread and share Revenue Targets across the USA sales organization and conduct regular updates on production vs budget.
Analyze customer data to understand purchasing patterns, preferences, and demographics to tailor marketing campaigns effectively.
Conduct and/or synthesize competitive and market research as needed to drive commercial performance management.
Provide project management leverage to the VP, Commercial Strategy & Management on multi-functional initiatives driving commercial performance
Prepare presentations and reports for senior management, highlighting insights and recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. MBA preferred
5+ years of experience in a commercial analysis role, preferably within the travel, hospitality or consumer brands sector OR experience working for a top-tier management consulting firm on commercial strategy engagements within these industries.
Advanced Excel skills are essential, also proficiency in data analysis tools to include PowerBI or Tableau, Dataiku, Data Brics.
Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles, competent at analyzing marketing ROI per channel, measuring channel effectiveness, monitoring and creating reporting around lead / call volumes, financial performance, booking performance.
Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and strategies
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present recommendations to diverse audiences.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Able to work in Miami, FL with a hybrid 2-3 days / week in-office schedule.
