LINE MANAGER: VP Global Construction
Based in Geneva and reporting to the VP Global Constructions, the Project Controller will be responsible for the coordination/implementation of budgeting, cost control, planning with each project manager across any project globally.
• Cost Estimating and Budget Development - collaborate with Finance, Legal and other Departments to prepare together with the project managers budgets and cost estimates, and manage and oversee all cost estimating and budgeting for new construction and development projects, including soft costs, hard costs, and other development related expenses;
• Project Scheduling – to promote a standard of planning and recurrent updates, including pre-construction and construction phases;
Technical resource able to drive crosswise all the projects in different phases of advancement in the following areas:
• Monthly cost analysis – checking cost progression and reporting any deviation, developing a control system worldwide on all the projects
• Monthly budgeting – forecasting together with the Team any upcoming costs, with enough advance to plan possible mitigation and savings
• Planning – based on a deep technical understanding of projects’ schedules, he/she will study and update of an economical advancement and a cash flow plan. He will also contribute to keep updated the timeline of upcoming projects.
• Structured support in analysis of variations and claims to better check the correct value of Change Orders
• Support and guidance to external Cost Estimators
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or similar education;
• Highly motivated and deadline driven, project management skills;
• 10+ years’ experience in construction projects (airports, commercial real estate, cruise terminals, hotels, mixed use facilities);
• Experience in port infrastructure construction (breakwaters, quays walls, dredging, etc.) is a plus;
• Ability to work independently;
• Self-starter who can implement processes and drive accountability for the department;
• Exceptional organisational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in different locations;
• Attention to detail and ability to work consistently and accurately;
• Team player with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organisation
• Fluent English;
• Knowledge of any other language is an advantage.
• Ability to multitask and flexibility to change of strategy
• Willingness to take the initiative
• Medium-high capability to work under pressure
The position will require regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress.
